   Use a ball of dough but what do u want to catch carp for? they’re not good to eat and what would u do with it if you did catch one?

   Being a huge Hiroshima Carp baseball fan and living in Japan over 20 years, you cannot be catching carp. It is a sacred fish. You’ll bring bad luck on yourself. It’s supposedly a fish that brings good luck which is why you see it in garden ponds or in castle moats in Japan. Westerners–no wonder the Chinese used to call you guys “barbarians.”

   Catch real seafood that’s tasty–sockeye salmon, tuna, squid, octopus, shrimp…man oh man.

   a small doe ball on a hook, as stated above “WHY” ? at least catch and release.

   4 different methods. #1 Carp do not eat bait like regular sport fish, so you can use dough as bait. Down side to this is the smaller fish usually pick it off of your hook long before a carp has had time to find it. #2 Snagging This involves throwing a big treble hook out and pulling it through the water in hopes of hooking a fish in the side. This has to be done where there is a large concentration of fish, like a dam.
   #3 Bow fishing on a boat with lights at night. #4 Nets. This is the most reliable, but the least sporting.

   why do you want to catch a carp?? bass are wayy better to catch

   I have no idea. But to counter what someone else said, carp can make excellent meals. Do a search for Czech or Polish recipes and you’ll find something good, as it’s the most popular fish to eat there.
