How to fish for carp in a big lake?

It’s a 590 acre lake in IL (Busse Lake).I only have my tackle that I use for bass fishing.I’m just looking to find where the carp hang out in a lake this size.What should I be looking for?

    I think they’re bottom feeders. Maybe chicken livers or some kind of dough mix.They eat anything. Most people don’t like them to eat.

    They are in the deep part of the lake around sunken trees and large sunken rocks. Find a good place to bank fish where no one else is fishing and set-up your rods there. Just use some of your heavier bass rods and reels for carp. Use a size 2 bait holder hook. Rigging your line for carp is all in preference. I just crimp on a big split shot to put my bait on the bottom. I use dough ball. It is made out of peanut butter, maple syrup, bread, and cinnamon. Works pretty good. I recommend you trying it. If you don’t want to make dough ball you can use bread. It works good too.

    fishing for carp takes a lot of time/patience…people usually get 3 or 4 rods set them up on the bank and cast out “doughballs” at a deep end of the water. look on yahoo for “carp doughball recipies”.

    they are herbivores they wont eat chicken liver thats catfish use dough bread rolled up cereal and let it sit at the bottom and just wait
